Our history
Our family have been selling eggs to the local area since 1945. Great Grandad Dunnett started the business with just 12 hens on a farm in the centre of Earls Barton. As both the business, and village grew, it was necessary for the business to move out of the village centre, so a plot of land was obtained on the edge of Earls Barton.
Old army huts were repurposed as the new chicken sheds, and the business expanded several times, ending with nearly 30,000 hens. Further expansion was not feasible, so eventually it was decided to stop production, and purchase eggs from other farmers. This gave us something we were not used to, free time!Our eggstensive range

Our massive range of jams!
We now sell a wide range of preserves. We stock most of the range from Mrs Darlington These are high quality preserves, using recipes originally from Mrs Darlington herself. The company is still run by her two daughters, and they regularly receive awards for their preserves!
We are one of the largest stockists of their range of jams, marmalades, chutneys, condiments and curds in the country.
We also stock many products from Tiptree, including a reduced sugar range, and an organic range. We have the jams from them that you don’t often see anywhere else! For example, Bramble Jelly, Crab Apple Jelly, Mulberry Jelly, Blood Orange Marmalade, and Little Scarlet Strawberry Jam!
There are also a large range of sauces from Stokes Sauces, and salad dressings from Northamptonshire. If you click the link in the menu on this page, you can see our whole range of products. Just select your nearest market to view them. You don’t need to order through the site, just turn up to the market and pay there.
Where to find us?
We have a small delivery round throughout Northamptonshire to keep us busy on a Tuesday. The rest of the week we attend local markets in the area
WEDNESDAY AND SATURDAY – Bedford 8am to 4pm
Bedford Market, on St. Pauls Square near La Piazza.

THURSDAY – Kempston 8am to 4pm
Kempston Market, Outside Sainsbury’s at the Saxon Centre.
Here we have our full range of eggs, jams, chutneys, marmalades and curds. In addition, we have a large range of household and hardware products, such as kitchen rolls, bleach, brushes, bin bags, bird seed etc
FRIDAY – Flitwick 9am to 2pm
Flitwick Market, behind the Village Hall, near the Library and Tesco.
